Our funeral homes are furnished to a high standard with a tasteful blend of modern and traditional. We have reception areas, private arrangement offices and chapels of rest and service rooms in all our funeral homes. Our funeral homes are ideally located to serve the local community.

OUR STORY
When Desmond Maguire started washing funeral cars at 15 years old, it didn’t take him long to notice how important a good funeral could be for a grieving family. Inspired to help those in need, Desmond took a job as a funeral service operative when he finished school. He gradually worked his way through the ranks to become a funeral director and in June 2006, he decided to open his own funeral home, aiming to deliver the very best funeral care.
A funeral is such a personal thing, and there are so many complex emotions to be given due attention, that to be chosen so often is a real honour and a privilege. It’s a constant source of pride and humility for Desmond that so many families entrust their funerals into his company’s care.

To ensure we have a thorough understanding of the life to be commemorated, our policy is to provide families with a single point of contact. The person you deal with will coordinate with the rest of our team ensuring communications are smooth, and the funeral service goes as exactly as you planned for. From the floral tributes, the type of funeral vehicle, the Order of Service booklets and anything else you wish to be included. We can assist with every aspect of funeral planning, making arrangements, including any special requests you may require.
Funeral Home Near Barrhead
The Mill Funeral Home is located near Barrhead, approximately 15-minutes by car. Our hearsette vehicle is used to bring the deceased into our care where we then care for the body with dignity and respect. Our team are fully trained, highly experienced, and will prepare your loved one based on how they requested to be laid to rest, or based on your families choice of clothing.
Our funeral home facilities have a tastefully decorated reception area, family room, chapel of rest, and a service room with seating capacity for up to 120 mourners, and is equipped with an audio system for funeral music.
Funeral Transportation
At Desmond Maguire, we maintain a fleet of traditional funeral vehicles. A Mercedes Benz hearsette, and multiple Mercedes Benz limousines. Each of our vehicles is presented in immaculate condition, expertly maintained, and custom-built to our unique specifications. Our chauffeurs have years of experience. Staff are dressed in traditional funeral etiquette of frock coats and top hats and conduct the funeral cortege traditionally too… Paging away from the family home, a local church, or from our funeral home.
